About Us
Our mission at Town & Country Insurance is a very simple one. Every day we aspire to practice the Golden Rule; to treat others as you would like to be treated. We’re all looking for value in what we buy and to have the peace of mind that we’ve done so. Insurance is a vehicle to peace of mind to ensure that you are protected against loss. As an independent agent, we contract with many different companies to meet the needs of our clients because not all sizes fit everyone. Couple this with a team of experienced agents and we believe we’re well positioned to provide value to all parties while practicing the Golden Rule. We keep this in mind when we provide everything from business insurance to workers compensation insurance to home owners insurance.
A little history
The agency was founded by Glen Wisdom in 1963 and was called "Wisdom, Your Insurance Man". The agency was owned by Dent County Bank until bought by Town & Country Bank in 2000, at which time the name was changed. We are a wholly own subsidiary of Town & Country Bank.( www.tcbanks.com ) We are primarily a Property & Casualty agency with a high percentage of commercial business insurance customers. We added a branch office in one of our bank locations at Rolla, Missouri in 2008. We purchased the Hagler Insurance Agency in Licking, Missouri in 2013, and retained the employees at that branch. In 2018 we opened a new branch office in Mountain Grove, Missouri. The branch is located right next to Town & Country Bank on Main Street.
Salem
Mike Elliott
Mike has been with the agency since 1991 and works with business insurance of all types. Mike enjoys working with and relating to business owners due to his own background in business management. He also works with public entities and many different types of non-profit organizations in managing their risks. He’s been the agency’s manager since 1993.
Sarah Edwards
Sarah joined the agency in 2003, and works as a commercial customer service representative and agent for homeowner, auto, motorcycle, RV and boat insurance. She worked in the accounting department of a food service company in St. Louis before moving back to Salem to join the agency.
Laura St John
Laura joined the agency in 1995 as the agency’s part-time bookkeeper. In 1998 Laura obtained her producer license and became an agent working mainly with homeowner, auto, motorcycle, RV and boat insurance. Her experience prior to joining the agency was in corporate merchandising. She pays the bills and maintains the agency’s books.
Danielle Kissir
Danielle joined the agency in November of 2017. She works as an agent for homeowner, auto, motorcycle, RV and boat insurances. Her experience prior to joining the agency was as a receptionist and personal banker for Town & Country Bank for four years.

Jim Hagler
Jim joined the agency in September of 2013 after Town & Country acquired the agency he founded in 1971. Jim primarily does commercial insurance and likes working with business owners all throughout south central Missouri. Jim is the branch manager.
Brenda Link
Brenda has been with Town and Country since the Hagler Agency was purchased and merged into Town & Country Insurance in 2013. Brenda was the bookkeeper and part owner of the Hagler Agency for many years. She works as an agent for homeowner, auto, motorcycle, RV and boat insurance.
Julia Ramsey
Julia has been with Town and Country since the Hagler Agency was purchased and merged into Town & Country Insurance back in 2013. Julia works as an agent for all lines of insurance including business, work comp, homeowner, auto, motorcycle, RV, boat and life insurance. She has several decades of insurance experience.

Ryne Armstrong
Ryne joined the agency in February of 2020. Ryne joined with several years experience in insurance and agency management at an independent agency at the Lake of the Ozarks. He is licensed in all lines of insurance including business, work comp, homeowner, auto, motorcycle, RV, boat and life insurance. Ryne is the branch manager.
Glenna Leckenby
Glenna joined the agency in April of 2019. She worked at the Lillian Cash Insurance Services Agency when it was purchased by Town & Country Insurance. Glenna wanted to continue with the customers she worked with for so many years. Glenna has several decades of insurance experience and works with clients on homeowner, auto, motorcycle, RV, boat and life insurance.
Rolla
The Rolla branch location was opened in 2008. Town & Country bought the "Josh Schafer Agency" in 2010, and many of its customers are still insured with us to this day. Customers are currently being serviced by the Salem staff, and by appointment in Rolla.
